Patient matching continues to challenge healthcare organizations, though a glimmer of progress emerged in a report accompanying a fiscal 2017 funding bill, in which the House appropriations committee directed the Department of Health and Human Services to provide technical assistance to private-sector-led patient-matching initiatives.
The latest news announcement highlights Healthix Community Consent, which enables patients to provide consent with one signature, for all Healthix Participants. This approach to patient consent accelerates the ability of all Healthix Participants to access their patient’s data in Healthix, and receive clinical summaries, results delivery, and clinical event notifications to support treatment, care management and quality improvement purposes. Mount Sinai Doctors – Victory Internal Medicine, an ambulatory practice and a key partner in the Staten Island Performing Provider System was the first site to launch this service.
