About MIHEC

A Collaborative Committed to Health Equity

The Maternal & Infant Health Equity Collaborative (MIHEC) was founded to address persistent and preventable disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes across our region. We operate as a subsidiary of Healthix, the nation’s largest public health information exchange, leveraging data-driven insights to connect families with the care they need.

Our network brings together hospitals, community health centers, doula collectives, nutrition programs, mental health providers, and social service organizations — united by the belief that every mother and every baby deserves equitable access to quality care, regardless of zip code or income.

Today MIHEC includes over 30 vetted partner organizations across all five boroughs of New York City, serving thousands of families each year.

Our Core Values

Mission

By fostering transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning, we work together to strengthen support systems and help drive positive, equitable change across our region.

Vision

Build a unified, data-driven ecosystem in which community partners, healthcare providers, and public leaders work seamlessly together to prevent harm, close equity gaps, and uplift families.

Why This Matters

Families across New York City experience barriers that are often invisible across systems. When data, partners, and community connect, care improves.
