Healthix Announces Waiving Connection Fees to Support Physician Adoption and Integration with Health Information Exchange

Time limited sensitive no-fee waivers offer for physician practices available through November 30. Additional incentive funding from New York State DOH also available to eligible practices.

New York, NY, Aug. 14, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — New York, August 1, 2018 – In an initiative to afford independent physician practices an opportunity to fully participate in the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY), Healthix has removed financial barriers associated with integrating electronic medical records (EMRs) by waiving the cost of connecting with the Health Information Exchange (HIE). Physicians who act by November 30, 2018 can avoid connection costs and realize thousands of dollars in savings by signing on as a participant in Healthix. Additional funding incentives of up to $13,000 per eligible practice are also available from the State’s Data Exchange Incentive Program (DEIP) and SHIN-NY Connections Initiative (SCI) through Healthix.

“Healthix is committed to making HIE services affordable, accessible and successful for every healthcare organization, large or small, within the community. We understand that competing priorities and limited resources pose barriers for smaller physician practices, which is why we are taking this step,” says Tom Check, President and CEO. “We want to alleviate that burden and encourage physicians to join Healthix so together we can make a positive impact on healthcare delivery in New York.”

In support of value-based care programs like DSRIP, and requirements to provide comprehensive, coordinated, quality care through the PCMH model, Healthix increasingly delivers value by providing services like real-time alerts and clinical updates. With records of over 16 million patients, updated with each new clinical encounter, Healthix can help physicians monitor high-risk, chronically ill patients, prevent avoidable hospital admissions and readmissions and provide current patient information to support transitions of care – key objectives of federal and state programs. To expedite this, Healthix has made tremendous progress with many of the prominent, certified EHR vendors. By using a hub model of integration, practices can quickly and efficiently connect to Healthix, contribute and receive data, and qualify for financial incentives from New York State; up to $13,000 is available for each physician practice that meets eligibility requirements. And now, with the additional advantage of waived fees, it’s as easy as 1-2-3 for practices to connect to Healthix. Healthix will waive implementation fees for practices that sign a participation agreement by November 30, 2018.  Physicians are encouraged to inquire if their EHR vendor may charge nominal fees to the practice for HIE interoperability.
