Join the New Gold Standard in Data — Contribute the Common Clinical Data Set

Todd Rogow, CIO Healthix

One of Healthix’s major focuses in 2017 is to increase both the quantity and quality of patient data to present the most complete view of the patient’s health. Please join us in working with your vendors and partners to help Healthix collect the full data set found within the
Meaningful Use regulations called the “Common Clinical Data Set”
. This work will not only support a more robust clinical exchange, but will empower clinicians throughout our community with the knowledge to better treat patients.

It is the goal of NYS Dept. of Health to have organizations contribute the full 20 data elements of the Common Clinical Data Set.

Clinical Event Notifications Add Function and Reach

to Meet Clinical Needs

Over the next month Healthix will introduce several expanded functionalities related to its Clinical Event Notifications (CENs). In the initial release, users who retrieve a CEN within their EHR will have capabilities that include:

CEN plus CCD — A new service that delivers a CCD with the standard CEN, allowing practitioners to have all the relevant patient information delivered at the time of the alert.

CEN Daily Digest —  Now you can receive a daily digest of your designated CENs, in place of, or in addition to, receiving them individually throughout the day.

CEN Diagnosis Plus — This month we will begin offering an expanded CEN that will include diagnosis, chief complaint and reason for visit, in addition to the standard information provided currently.

CENs Emergency 30-Day Re-Admit — CENs can be triggered for patients who visit an Emergency Department multiple times within 30 days. The CENs allow for flexibility in setting the number of ED visits required to activate the trigger.

Cross-State CENs — H
ealthix now delivers alerts based on ED and inpatient events that occur in other RHOS across the state:

  • NYCIG (NYC Health + Hospitals, SUNY Stony Brook, Winthrop)
  • HealthlinkNY (Westchester, Hudson Valley, Southern Tier)
  • Hixny (Albany and North)
  • HealtheConnections (Syracuse and Central New York)

New Hub Models Launch

Hub models integration allows Healthix to connect to an EHR through a Hub (center) to exchange data with multiple organizations, saving time and money. In March, we connected with Participants using Amazing Charts and
PointClickCare’s EHR.
The first Athenahealth integration is now complete and Healthix will convert this to a hub model in the near future.
