HEALTHIX DATA STRATEGY AND REPORTING TEAM: The team, led by Senior Data Analyst Joyce Li, includes a group of dedicated and talented data analysts, Mark Fandialan, Senior Data Analyst, and Chris Maffei, Data Engineer. Mrs. Li recently discussed the importance of data quality for interoperability and information exchange. What is your department’s role at Healthix? Healthix holds a vast repository of highly valuable patient information. Our job is to listen to what our clients want and determine how to best analyze the data we receive from over 8,000 contributors. We look at a variety of inputs, from procedure and diagnoses codes, to tracking and following trends. We look for supporting data or evidence for the purpose of research and grant projects. We have helped clients determine whether a research study is feasible or not. We created a Gaps in Care report to answer key questions as well as vaccine reports. What is the team working on currently? The team is working on the terminology project, which standardizes the data upon query, using industry accepted codes. This project requires close collaboration with our hospitals, and ultimately will examine 60 data points in all. The outcome will be stronger data for research, care coordination and improved clinical outcomes. "Eliminating Goals of Care Blindspots in New York State." At HIMSS22, Dr. Jonathan Austrian, associate chief medical information officer for inpatient clinical informatics at NYU Langone Health, described how he and clinical and IT staff worked with Epic and New York's eMOLST registry and Healthix HIE to bring that data into patients' electronic health records.
