Healthix launches Community Consent with Mount Sinai Doctors - Victory Internal Medicine of Staten Island. This initiative can substantially accelerate access to patient data for use in treatment, care management and quality improvement.

COMMUNITY CONSENT LAUNCHES

Healthix Community Consent enables patients to provide consent with one signature, for all Healthix Participants

This approach to patient consent accelerates the ability of all Healthix Participants to access their patient's data in Healthix, and receive clinical summaries, results delivery, and clinical event notifications to support treatment, care management and quality improvement purposes. This is especially useful for DSRIP Performing Provider Systems (PPS) and Health Plans that find it difficult to collect consent because they often do not have face-to-face contact with their patients or members.

Staten Island is the First
Healthix Participant to Launch Community Consent

Mount Sinai Doctors - Victory Internal Medicine, an ambulatory practice and a key partner in the Staten Island Performing Provider System, recognized the benefit of Healthix Community Consent for their patients. With a focus on improving the health of Staten Island residents, they stepped forward to become the first site and lead the effort.

Now, when patients register at the practice, they are asked to provide their consent to all Healthix participants so that providers involved in their care may collaborate with their doctors at Victory to offer coordinated, connected care. And the great news is patients understand the value, with the vast majority giving consent to all Healthix Participants.

Healthix Community Consent will support care management in value based payment programs such as DSRIP, and will be especially helpful for care management organizations that do not typically have face-to-face contact with patients.

How Can Your Organization Implement Community Consent?

Healthix staff will work with your organization to prepare you for implementation. Here are a few steps to consider:
  • A new Healthix consent form is given to patients that offers a Community Consent option. To view the Community Consent Form, click here >

  • The patient needs to receive a printed list of all current Healthix Participants (updated monthly) To view October's Participant List, click here >

  • Healthix will now be the source of truth with regards to patient consent status, because Healthix will be aware of all participating organizations affected by a patient's Community Consent decision
